Hi, glad you enjoyed the Instructable.I bought the wood on Ebay, it was a pack of solid oak flooring which was left over from a job, then friends have given me some lengths as well, its also good to ask flooring companies if they have off-cuts.

I agree that the download as guest print is smaller than the actual sign up letters, most companies want you to sign up, thats the beauty of Fusion 360, its free to the Hobbyist which I personally think is fantastic. The Vetric software is expensive, with Aspire being over £1800 over $2000 which I could never warrant or afford but I do use both Fusion and Vetric Vcarve a lot they both do different things so I can Justify the cost for VCarve. As always it's each to their own of course.

Hi, If you look a bit further down the page it clearly states "Download as Guest" it doesn't ask for any details that way, I tried it, but I had paid for the software anyway so didn't allow the download to finish.Hope this helps and thanks for your comment.

Thanks for your comments, now mowing the grass with it would be more fun than walking behind a Lawnmower that's for sure!

Hi, it will either work or make the cardboard go soggy 😂 if I was to go down that route I would probably use a spray lacquer or something, it dries quicker. Thanks for the comment.
Hi thanks for the tip, might give it a whirl
Hi, yes there is that option but it was a build for a Cardboard contest, I have some foam board, might try an rc plane or something

Hi it looks better close up, using a smaller dimension router bit would give more detail, the wood is stained which may give the impression of burning
View Instructable »Hi I’m sorry I don’t know the answer to that, I used a cnc machine with router and 3mm bit

Hi, well there are bigger Wall-e’s on YouTube , so yes is the answer to that. The eyes do light up, not sure what you mean really. With Easyvr 3 which is the software where voice commands and sounds are created, you can record any sounds and create many different voice commands etc. with ref to making it quieter, not really when you are using servos etc Hope this helps Regards Kev

Hi many thanks for your comments.I have thought about the Servos and maybe making more of a maze game rather than labyrinth, I would use the bigger 996 servos, standard servo code I think would be too aggressive but there are libraries out there to smooth Servo movements.I would like to design a maze using Fusion 360 or Vetric.Good luck with your project and I look forward to seeing it 👍

Hi there, its just called Arduino Nano Servo Shield V3 as in the photo. As for line connections, the connections are as they are in the code, just follow the pinout numbers from the driver board to the Nano shield, the shield is a Servo shield so we are only using the "S" in both the digital and Analog pinouts, all 5v are soldered and sleeved as are the Grounds and the supply is taken from the 5v and Gnd pins on the shield, there are 2 sets of 5v and Gnd pins on the shield.Hope this helps.

Hi and thanks for your comments. You could just have a still life, it would work great, a strip of LED’s with a battery pack and remote are really cheap, add a few plastic plants and some pebbles, job done, they do bigger lures as well! Have fun if you have a go at making one!

Hi there, there is no detailed plan as such, I roughly sketched it up using Vetric Desktop, then just made circles where I thought they would work the best, to be honest I added more barriers as I tested it, you can make your own designs for the base, and make them Interchangeable, its fun just making the course I thought.
Hi, That is worth noting, I still like the idea of a joystick, the versions with 2 knobs for control look a bit awkward.I think I have enough room to put an angled base in the box, so that the ball will run to a corner and into a trough, thankyou for the comment.
View Instructable »Hi, thankyou very much for the comments you have made and the advice, I think a lot of the time with these projects I'm just using scraps of material I have lying around and it's a great way to use them up, I agree with you on the surface of the MDF, it is a bit abrasive with the steel ball.I think another thing is, prior to starting this project, I had everything at hand like some bearings for the dowel, or like you say make some brass sleeves etc, all do able it's just thinking about doing at the time which is the issue:)) and I will re-visit it, in fact at this very moment I have just put together an Arduino sketch for 2 Servo's with Joystick control, I will give that a try at some point, I just think servo's are a bit to erratic, at lease with the steppers the movements are smooth, al…

Hi and thanks, I thought about using Servo’s for axis movement, but thought they maybe too fast, could maybe use a Servo smoother sketch or something, valid point though
View Instructable »Hi and yes at the moment it is just a case of lifting it up and gathering the balls, good point though.
